The first mechanical dishwashing device was registered in 1850 in the United States, it was made of wood and was cranked by hand while water was sprayed onto the dishes.  It was unfortunately both slow and unreliable but it represented the spark for many future innovations.

After many different versions of the appliance were invented through time, the first domestic dishwasher with an electric motor was invented and manufactured by Miele in 1929.  Because the way we eat and the dishes we use have changed over time, the dishwasher followed suit and changed along with our needs.  It is now one of the most technologically advanced appliance in our kitchens, from different washing cycles to Wi-Fi connectivity.
